The Dark Knight Rises

I am a huge batman fan. And what Christopher Nolan has done with the batman movies is unbelievable. From the ground breaking origin story in Batman Begins, which has inspidered countless of movies, to the box office recording setting movie The Dark Knight; Nolan’s movies are the best. And next July he is bringing the final chapter to his series to the big screen.
Christian Bale returns as the Dark Knight who is pitted against one of his most brutal foes from the DC universe, Bane who is played by Tom Hardy. The official synopsis of the movie is “Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent's crimes.”
After reading many interviews I think it’s safe to say that they terrorist group they are referring to is the League of Assassins (who was lead by Ra’s ah Ghul in Batman Begins and was trying to recruit Bruce Wayne into leading the charge against Gotham). Also it is speculated that Talia ah Ghul being in the movie(daughter of Ra’s) and Liam Neeson will be appearing in Flashbacks. I say speculated because as of right now Nolan hasn’t confirmed if this. Also it is CONFIRMED that Catwoman will be in this movie being played by the Academy Award nominated actress Anne Hathaway. And Catwoman (who is a cat burglar) is after Bruce because she feels that he has gotten rich over people being poor (sound familiar to anyone).

Now that I got the basics out of the way I am going to embellish on the story some. Now this is just me thinking out side of the box from what is known from the two already released trailers and the six minute long prologue that is attached to Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

First watch the trailers so you know kind of what I am talking about.
Trailer 1

Trailer 2

Some of you might have noticed the scenes of Bruce Wayne in prison; I think those are going to serve as a back story to back when Bruce was imprisoned in Batman Begins. And knowing Bane’s back story from the comics (was sentenced to life in prison when he was an infant to carry out his fathers punishment.) I think that Bane and Bruce had met back before Bruce became the Batman. Also this works out because I also think that Ra’s rescued Bane from prison and trained him to become an assassin. And once Ra’s got “killed” in the first one I think that that sent Bane off the deep end and ever since that he has been planning his revenge.
Or that can be totally wrong. In the second trailer there is a clip starting at 1:31 and its Bane talking to Bruce (who is severely beaten) saying “When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die. “ which can mean that Bane either had it out for Gotham way before Batman Begins days or that Bruce gets captured during what looks like the raid on his house and is then imprisioned by Bane. That could be as a way to keep Batman from interfering with his plans, but then why wouldn’t Bane just kill him?
So I think that the first scenario is the most likely one.
In the Six minute prologue he says “ It doesn't matter who we are? What matters is our plan.” And from clips shown in the trailers it looks like his plan is to complete his masters work and make Gotham burn. And since, in my theory, Bane and Ra’s were partners that probably mean that Bane knows that Bruce is the Batman. So that sets up why Bane wants to crush Gotham so badly.
Also the trailers show Bane breaking prisoners out of Black Gate prison, blowing up the football field and what I think is raiding of Wayne Manor .

And it also looks like our friend Commissioner Gordon is in for a rude awakening this movie. We have seen him go from detective to commissioner and now it sounds like the mayor is going to can him. And then we see him in a hospitable bed, which can only mean one thing and that is Bane (or goon) gets to him and hurts him good.

Some might have noticed Joseph Gordon-Levitt who plays a beat cop John Blake. And hardly anything is known about his character. Set photos show him mostly standing around (as if he was an extra) and every now and again he would do something like chase after a motorcycle with his gun drawn. But when I think back to his casting Nolan made a decently big deal the JGL will be in think movie and that makes me think. So what if batman is needed but is nowhere to be found? (most likely because of bane kidnapping him.) And we know that JGL does play a cop who is after batman and we know that Gordon gets extremely hurt in this movie and is talking to what everyone believes to be Bruce about how “We were in this together, and then you were gone. And now there's evil rising. The Batman has to come back. “ then what if it is JGL not Bruce who says “What if he doesn't exist anymore? “ and Gordon isn’t a dumb guy I’m sure that over the years he has put together the fact the Bruce is Batman, so he tells JGL everything he knows about Bruce, JGL then goes to Wayne Manor and discovers the batcave and takes the suit. So I guess what I’m saying is what if JGL becomes batman for some of the movie as a fill in until he tracks down Bruce and rescues him.
I know all of that was just me thinking extremely but I think that it very well could be because we all know that in the comics when Batman was injured and out of action that someone put on the cowl and fights as him (and again when he “dies” during the Final Crisis) so that’s something to just think about for a little bit.
But on a sad note both of the Chris’s (Nolan and Bale) have said that this will be the final Batman movie in this franchise and that neither are wanting/planning to return. I can go on writing about this movie for ages but I’ll stop for now.

Make sure to stay tuned for more news. Until then here are some awesome pictures.

He recognizes one victim (Willis) as himself and hesitates, resulting in the escape of his older self

October:

November:
2-Red Dawn has seem some troubles in getting remade. Although it was finished being filmed all the way back in 09, it wasn’t released right away due to MGM going bankrupt. But then things started to look bright again. Then it hit a snag when they had to go back into the movie and digitally change all of the bad guys from Chinese to North Korean, which cost them about a million dollars to do. But now its finally be released and it stars Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Jeffery Dean Morgan.

9-Skyfall see blog entry

21-47 Ronin is set in the 18th century set and the story centered on a band of samurai who set out to avenge the death of their master. And it stars Keanu Reeves (yeah I don’t get it either) Hiroyuki Sanada, Ko Shibaski and Tadanobu Asano.

Photobucket

19- Untitled. A couple years ago Kathryn Bigelow pitched a movie idea about the solders who were hunting down Osama Bin Laden. And since back then there was no real “ending” to the movie it got put on hold. Recently (with the death of Bin Laden) the studios have given her the green light to do the movie. And I cant think of no better person to direct then her. She two years ago she won the Oscar for best picture for the movie The Hurt Locker.

21-Hunter Killer is about an untested American submarine captain who teams up with the U.S navy seals when they have to go rescue the kidnapped president of Russia who has been kidnapped by a rouge general.

25-Django Unchained see blog entry

Prometheus

Ridley Scott isn’t a director that is known for doing Sci-Fi films but when he does it sets the standards for years to come. In 1979 he came out with a Horror Sci-Fi flick called “Alien” and three years later he came out with “Blade Runner.” And to this day those two movies have been the (now dated) standard for any sci-fi film. And I am extremely excited to say that he is going to be doing it again.

“Prometheus” is set to be released in June of 2012 and it is about A team of explorers that discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Now from the many interviews I have read they all hint at the fact that this is a not-so-direct prequel to Scott’s Alien. Rotham, a CEO at Fox Studios, says “If you looked at the whole movie, 95 percent of it is entirely unto itself. Ridley said it right: If you're a fan and you look closely, you'll spot strands of DNA." And Scott further backs that up by saying the last ten or so minutes we’ll start to see creatures that we recognize from the previous films. And also he states that the film is based in the same universe as the alien movies and that if you’re a fan boy that you’ll recognize the company the explorers work for.

And this makes sense from a studios stand point too. Last year they did a not-so-direct sequel to the Predator movies and it did extremely well. So why not try to make another Alien flick.

Recently there was a leak low quality trailer that when it was first leaked many thought it was to good to be true, until FOX quickly shut down all the videos of it on YouTube which confirmed that it was in fact a leaked trailer. Unforntially I wasn’t quick enough to watch it but from everything that I have read about it, it seems amazing. And one of the things that every one is saying is that they show clips of the Space Jockey in the trailer.

For those who don’t know what the space jockey is go watch the first film. Or just read here. The space jockey was in the first alien movie, it was the pilot of the ship that was crash landed on the planet that Ripley and crew was sent to go investigate because it was sending out what they thought was an SOS but was really a stay the hell away.

And Scott said back in the day that the Space Jockey race was a humanoid like species that used the Xenomorphs (the bad alien creature from the franchise) as a type of weapon. They would drop the eggs on an enemy planet and let the creatures destroy all living things.

And since the whole movie is about the humans making a discovery that hints to life on earth I speculate that they find the remains of a space jockey on another planet and since its so human like they figure that we might be related somehow and go to try and find the space jockeys origins. And if you watch the original movie you will that the Space Jockey was carrying a bunch of the alien eggs when it crash landed and then they alien used it as a host to breed the Xenomorphs.

I think that this possible story idea (humans find space jockey>humans explore to find origins>humans find origins>humans discover what destroyed space jockey race) is actually a great idea because it doesn’t deal with the “Alien” directly till the final stages and it fits right into the movie synopsis.
Here are some pictures that have been released through Entertainment Weekly

And here is the famed Space Jockey from the original movie

And if it wasn’t enough that Scott is producing/directing the project the movie is written by Damon Linelof who is now known for his writing credits in the hit TV show Lost and for movies Cowboys & Aliens and the currently untitled Sequel to JJ Abrams Star Trek.

And in front of the camera in this space journey will be Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Idris Elba.

all and all the movie is going to be beyond amazing and i can not wait.

I’m sure that the trailer for this space epic will be officially released in the upcoming month during the holiday season. And it is currently set to be released on June 8th of 2012.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all?

That is the question that Universal pictures and Relativity Media will be asking come the turn of the year. Like the rest of the world movie studios follow trends to try and out do their compactors, their current trend that they are both hoping to dominate in is the new adaptation of the classic tale by the Grimm Bros called Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

Now although both studios are producing an adaptation of Snow White, they both took separate approaches. And I was actually surprised when the trailers came out on which studio took which approach. Relativity’s is titled Mirror, Mirror and Universal’s is titled Snow White and the Huntsman.

Now with Relativity Media’s track record of gore driven movies such as Let Me In, The Raven, and Shark Night, I was expecting that they would take the more gore driven turn similar to the 90’s adaptation starting Sigourney Weaver but they took the Disney approach. I was shocked I really think they dropped that ball here. This studio could have made a fantastic version aimed at teens more than children.

Here watch the trailer for yourself.

And when Universal released their trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman, I again was shocked but this time it was in a great way. Universal has a wide variety of films from children films to films slanted to adult themed. And I thought that they would point their adaptation towards the younger kids but no they aim for the teen/ older crowd.

Here watch the trailer.

Now the battle begins and I have to admit Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman seems to have every advantage. Not only does it star more time relative actors it stars twilight Saga’s Kristen Stewart and Thor’s Chris Hemsworth. Whereas the only real notable name in Mirror, Mirror is Julia Roberts and sorry for now a day’s movie generation Kristen and Chris out way the Oscar winner Roberts. Disagree if you want but the numbers will prove me right.

I believe that Relativity has extremely dropped the ball on Mirror, Mirror. M,M is directed but Tarsem Singh, who has recently directed the Immortals for Relativity. Now I haven’t seen Immortals (yet) but I think his talent is wasted from going from a war flix to a children’s show.

Now universal has taken a risk and hired Rupert Sanders. Now you might ask why is that a risk, well it is because Rupert has ZERO credits to his name but still just from the trailer it looks like Snow White will destroy against M,M .
Now Relativity was smart and decided not to go directly head-to-head and decided to move their release of M,M to march which helps it seems more successful, when in turn it won’t be. And Universal is taking a gamble (not really though) by slating Snow White for a summer film, which I’m sure they are hoping it will be a summer block buster (earning 60 mil. Plus) but that is risky because next summer is going to be very intense with The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, The Amazing Spiderman, Prometheus (OMFG!) and G.I. Joe 2.

But I believe that they took the right path in slating it for a summer release. I strongly think that M,M has dropped the ball so badly on their choices and I think the Universals Snow White will reap the benefits.

Updates on Superman movie

So here are some updates on current Comic book Movie Superman directed by Zack Snyder.

So, Russell Crowe (who plays Superman’s dad Jor-El) tweets that him and Michael Shannon (who plays General Zod) have a fight scene in this movie. Which is new for all of the DC Universe, and is very exciting.

He tweets
“15km bike ride, umpteen hours of fighting Michael Shannon. He’s very hard to put down. Hard to tell who wins, we are still fighting tomorrow”

Michael Shannon confirms this in an interview saying, "We do have a fight sequence in the film. We worked on it for a long time, we rehearsed it for a long time, then you shoot it and it's done. It's kind of strange to put all this work into something that's going to be maybe a minute long [on film]."

So maybe Jor-El puts up a fight and locks Zod in the phantom zone. That’ll be pretty sweet.

Also in a interview Shannon was asked if the iconic “Kneel Before Zod” line will be uttered in the film and his answer is…interesting.

He says “its not a sure thing that there will be any kneeling in the film, its not a dead issue, but it’s not a certainty.” There is only two reasons that he doesn’t know, One being that the script is being re-written (most likely) or two that there are sections of the script that still hasn’t been given to him in order to keep the ending from being leaked.

Also recently there have been some weird leaked photos of Clark Kent (I’m assuming due to the lack of suit and the beard) helping or being rescued by the Coast Guard. Now I’m not that big of a Superman fan but I don’t recall Clark ever sporting a beard. Take a look.

Anyway there are some updates of the new Superman movie direct by Zack Snyder, set to be released summer 2013(yes the date got pushed back)

Resident Evil Retribution

After wrapping up filming of The Three Musketeers, director Paul W S Anderson went right on to his next project, Resident Evil 5 also known as Resident Evil: Retribution.

Like the rest of the series it will fallow Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) through the post- apocalyptic world filled with zombies.

There hasn’t been much released about the movie but through interviews with director Anderson and star Jovovich I have pieced together the following.

There will be some new cast added to the movies. The cast will play iconic Resident Evil characters Ada Wong (played by Bingbing Li), Leon S Kennedy (played by Johann Urb) and Barry Burton (played by Kevin Burand).
Photobucket
(Barry Burton, Luther West and Leon S. Kennedy)

There will be cast returning that was previously thought to be dead. They are Carlos Olvera (played by Oded Fehr from Resident Evil 2 and 3) also it is rumored that Rain Ocampo played by Michelle Rodriguez , last seen is the first Resident Evil turning all zombie like then being killed by Matt Addison (played by Eric Mabius). So maybe there will be some flash back scenes to the first movie.

Also returning is Sienna Guillory’s Jill Valentine, Boris Kodjoe’s Luther West and Shawn Roberts’ Albert Wesker (you really didn’t he died last time around did you?)

The movie will return to Raccoon City, the ground zero of the zombie outbreak. This is proven by set photos tweeted by Jovovich. Now this could be in flash backs to the first two films or they may go and revisit for old times’ sake.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Anderson has said that he get some inspiration from the games, and that he wants to have the zombie’s to be infected by the Las Plagas and that he wants the undead to “run around, ride motorbikes, and shoot machine guns.” He is also planning a chase scene that is taken from the fifth game “where the characters are driving in a Hummer through the desert and they’re being chased by zombies shooting machine guns on motorbikes. We’ve taken that and we’ve kind of run with it. We’re not gonna use a Hummer this time we’re gonna use a Rolls Royce Phantom, cause no one’s ever done a car chase with a Rolls Royce Phantom before. And I’ve discovered why, because it’s really, really expensive.”
Photobucket
(Rolls Royce Phantom)

If the movie fallows the trends of the first four then it should be a great action flick, but not stay true the video game series at all. Like how Alice is the star of the movie series but does not appear at all during the games. But that is a rant for another day.

Resident Evil Retribution is due to come out next summer.

Chronicle Trailer

I was looking at recently released movie trailers while watching the Bucs take on the Bears. And I came across a trailer for Chronicle. I clicked on the trailer because of the poster , not because of the name because frankly its sucks.

Photobucket

The poster is taken in Seattle (the Space Needle gave that away) on a stormy day. I looked harder and it seemed to have three people floating in the air. My thoughts went straight to that maybe this will be another horrible Alien flick but I was greatly surprised as the seconds ticked by on the trailer.

Here is the trailer watch for yourself.

Ok the first twenty seconds sucked bad. What horrible way to start a trailer for a superhero/alien movie, even if it is directed towards a high school audience.

Moving on;

When the kids stabbed the other with the fork, I was hooked. Then the whole teddy bear scene made me laugh so hard. The car theft scene was eh, till the guy said “yes it was the black guy this time” that is great writing.

Then it develops the story of one of the three friends turns “evil” because as we all know power is turns us greedy and with great power comes great responsibility.

And yes I just quoted Spiderman.

Even though the trailer developed the story, it did not give away the whole movie. It left some mystery and now a days people want way to much from trailers and studios are giving way to much away.

The super power they have reminds me of the Force mixed with a little bit of Magneto, which is a cool twist.

Towards the end of the trailer, the trailer rewinds itself and it shows the three friends climbing into a cave, well or a crater? I am not quite sure which. But if you pause just right you can see something blue (and shiny?) which leads me to believe the theory that this will end up being an alien movie (but this take on it would be pretty sweet) or some type of ancient power. Like the three friends find some mystical “thing” that gives them great power.

Either way seems pretty awesome. That’s the plot I have picked up on, now let’s talk about the tech side.

This film marks theatrical debut of director Josh Trank who had previously worked on TV miniseries “The Kill Point” back in 2007. “The Kill Point” is a great series definitely recommend checking that out.

Chronicle is written by relatively unknown screen writer Max Landis.

It also stars relatively unknown actors, which in my opinion adds to the awesomeness of the movie and gives to a more believable story. Sometimes its hard to believe an actor as an character because they have been in so much that you see them as an actor and not as the character.

I think for movies like this the best thing to do is to get up and coming actors to star because it helps save money in the acting department in order to put it towards more important things like CGI. And this flick seems very heavy on CGI and so again this will help the movie.

One thing I noticed is that a lot of the shots (in the trailer) was filmed in the same manner as Clover Field, using the first person/ handheld camera technique, which adds to the realness factor of the movie. And I think that is what caught my attention most from the trailer. A lot of the trailer felt like these three kids where just “chronicling” their adventures which might be why they chose the title “Chronicle.”

Set to be released in February of 2012, Chronicle shall definitely be an interesting flick to see.

Django Unchained

I recently found out about this new movie project that is being lead by Writer/Director Quentin Tarantino, the movie is titled “Django Unchained”. I can’t find much about the film expect for a small synopsis by Tarantino and some of the casting of the main characters.

“A slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from the brutal Calvin Candie, a Mississippi plantation owner. “

Now just knowing that Quentin Tarantino is writing/directing this picture, you know it’s going have an amazing story. I mean Tarantino is probably top ten movie makers of the 21st century. If you haven’t seen Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs or Inglorious Bastards stop reading this right now, slap yourself once and go to whatever place you rent movies from and enjoy a night of entertainment.

He stated back in 2007 during an interview that he want to do a spaghetti western with real issues. Saying that he want "to do movies that deal with America's horrible past with slavery and stuff but do them like spaghetti westerns, not like big issue movies. I want to do them like they're genre films, but they deal with everything that America has never dealt with because it's ashamed of it, and other countries don't really deal with because they don't feel they have the right to"

That’s pretty deep for a “pulp” movie maker.

If just knowing Tarantino was involved wasn’t enough to sell you on seeing this flick maybe knowing that the very talented actor Jamie Foxx is playing bounty hunter Django. This Oscar award winning actor can do it all. From action star in movies like The Kingdom and Collateral to serious actor in Ray and Law Abiding Citizen, I can honestly say just having this A-Lister in the movie is going to make it Golden.

And I know this is going to make sound like a broken record BUT if knowing that Tarantino and Foxx wasn’t enough to sell you on the movie, playing the part of Mississippi plantation owner Calvin Candie is the talented Leonardo DiCaprio. Although he has never walked away from the Oscars with an Oscar he has been nominated 3 times and I think should have been nominated again for his work on “The Departed”

Man, this star studded movie is going to make a lot of noise. But those two actors aren’t the only ones, its going to have veteran Tarantino actors Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson and rumored Kurt Russell.

I’ll keep your guys updated when I learn about it but Django Unchained is set to be released December 2012.

Superman: The Brain Child of Snyder and Nolan

Photobucket
(First official photo)

So about a year ago Warner Bros announced that there will be a new superman movie and after the let down of the previous film (Superman Returns) not a lot of Fanboys were thrilled. But then we found out that Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) would be producing and writing the story behind it, across Fanboy nation there was great applause. then after lots of looking around they announced that the Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) will be directing it, and again there was great applause throughout the Fanboy nation.

And the great news kept rolling in. David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Blade 1-3) wrote most of the story and the screen play. Leaving Snyder to make final decisions about where he wants the story to go.

With most of the major CBM players involved this movie is set to be on the same caliber as The Dark Knight, which is the highest grossing CBM ever (second place is Spider-Man).

But enough about the crew let’s get to the stars of the bound to be epic, Man Of Steel.

Superman will be played by Henry Cavill.
Louis Lane will be played by Amy Adams (great cast)
Jor-El (Superman’s dad) will be played by Russell Crow
Jonathan Kent will be played by Kevin Costner (great cast)
[I have got to add that Clark Kent/Superman probably has the best casted dad’s ever]
Martha Kent will be played by Diane Lane (no relation to Louis Lane)
The great General Zod will be played by Michael Shannon
And Perry White is to be played by Laurence Fishburne (amazing cast)

Story
I would assume it will be the typical origin story for superman.

The New Suit
Photobucket

I’m mixed about the new suit.

Things wrong (but could be for the best) is missing the red outer under wear, a superman trade mark, and the superman trade mark “S” on the back of the cape. But a cool thing is it looks more futuristic like Jor-El stuffed a Kryptonian war suit in the space shuttle with little Kal-El.

Cloudy with a chance of Doomsday?
Photobucket

Although that can be many things, I noticed the eye marker about two feet above his head. That could make the creature about 8 feet (give or take) and Doomsday is a giant. Also notice the MoCap guy’s hands are huge as well.

Photobucket

Now again who knows what it actually is but I speculate that the figure on the right is Zod (or some female minion) and the guy in the motion capture suit is Doomsday.

Could General Zod have Doomsday come and destroy Smallville and in the process kill superman and leave a huge cliff hanger for a second movie? Doubtful if it is doomsday he will be easily defeated and come back for round two as the main bad guy with double the power.

I'm sure more news will come out soon that will help narrow down what to expect in this movie but until then Man of Steel is set to be released June of 2013

The New 52!

Photobucket(I like how young all the characters look)

Following the events of the crossover series “Flashpoint” DC Universe is set to reboot all 52 major titles, or in other words restarting the entire DC Universe!

Now I haven’t read Flashpoint yet so ( please don’t spoil it) I can’t really tell you why this is happening but I’ll be glad to share my opinion and tell you what’s happening.

Some things to keep in mind before the reboot becomes active
-----DC confirmed that stories like Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Identity Crisis, Death in the Family, and Killing Joke are still part of the DCU history. In fact, editors said, some events in those stories are specifically referenced in September.
------- DC has not confirmed that other storylines will or will not be part of the universe's new history. (For example, Geoff Johns' recent Superman: Secret Origin story.) We will have to wait and see.

What I don't get is how there are some story arcs that remain "true" but this is going to be the first time they all meet each other. maybe its explained somewhere online(if so i haven't found it) or its explained it Flashpoint

BUT ANYWAY

let’s get to what to expect:

Starting with the best hero of the DCU, Batman:
Photobucket
(Batman #1)

Photobucket
(Detective Comics #1)

Batman’s history will remain intact for the most part. Meaning Robin will be dead and there would be a replacement. Barbara will be the Oracle and come back as Batgirl. And there will be one and only one Batman; Bruce Wayne

And like always there are many titles surrounding Batman, because of how awesome he is of course.

Superman:
There will be two story arcs as always.

One being Action comics which will handle his origin story:
Photobucket
(Action Comics #1)I like the jeans and t-shirt. More realistic for a “new” super hero.
Photobucket
(Action Comics #2. Pretty Sweet!)
Action Comics will talk a lot about his alien roots. maybe explains AC#2 cover.

and the other will be Superman and it will pick up in present day. Superman is single and Pa and Ma Kent are long dead.

Photobucket
(Superman #1)The suit is ceremonial battle armor that pays tribute to his Kryptonian past

Green Lantern:

Photobucket
(Green Lantern #1)
Unlike the rest of the titles Green Lantern will be the only one not to undergo a reboot. Instead it will continue the story line of “War of the Green Lanterns.

Justice League:
Photobucket
(Justice League #1)

In the sneak preview DC gave a peek about Justice League they showed Batman being hunted down by a dark force and being save by the Green Lantern.

Other titles to look forward to:

Teen Titans #1 (I’m blown away by how beast they all look)

Aquaman #1

Green Arrow #1

Nightwing #1

Superboy #1

Here’s a video of writers and producers explaining the DCU Reboot in more detail

Is the new James Bond Movie to be based off Carte Blanche?

Photobucket

A news report from Serbia about a Serbian chick who is playing cello in the movie stated that the movie will be about the new James Bond novel Carte Blanche. At first I was like “what how would a cellost (person who plays cello?) Know this?”

But then I started to think about it and it actually made sense and no worries the fact she is playing music in the movie had no affect on my thought process.

Let’s look at some facts we already know.

--The new James Bond book is located in Serbia, India, and South Africa. What we know now from interviews with producers and director Sam Mendes

--We know from news reports that the producers have asked permission to film a big car chase in Serbia…in the book, Carte Blanche, there is a big car chase scene in Serbia

--Then we know the producers have been seeking India's approval to film a dangerous action sequence on a train. In the book, the big opening scene is a big train crash.

--Another portion of the book has scenes in the location of South Africa, and producers have asked permission to film there, and received it. No details yet on which scenes will be filmed there.

--You might be thinking but Carte Blanche isn’t a sequel to Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace so how can this book relate to the set story line? The answer is that Producer Barbara Broccoli has said that the series "will go on to other different stories from now on."

I get how some people doubt this news because the source material isn’t an Ian Fleming original but Jeffery Deaver (writer of Carte Blanche) was chosen by the Fleming family to write this version and Deaver is a renowned author.

So it makes some sense to me that Hollywood would look for a more “modern” story to go along with a more “modern” audience. Also Hollywood is all about the now. They would have more opportunities of making money off a book that came out this summer more than one that came out twenty summers ago.

But on the other hand there are some reports that it’s going to be titled “Property of a Lady” or “Red Sky at Night”. So I guess all of this is speculation till the producer or director comes out and says “hey it’s going to be called….”

Regardless the “set” release date is November 2012 and filming to start shooting sometime this year.

Two and a Half: a New Start and a Death

Photobucket

CBS has recently released a promo picture of Two and a Half Men featuring Ashton Kutcher in replacement of Charlie Sheen.

It looks really awkward. But I have high hopes because Kutcher was hilarious on The 70’s Show and other movies. So I think this is what TAAHM needed because was it just me or was it starting to get repetitive?

And they also released a synopsis of the first episode (which airs September 19th)

“After the death of Charlie Harper, an Internet Billionaire purchases Charlie's beach house.”
Even awkwarder, right! Is Alan just going to sell the house with a discloser that he and his son are still living there, or is he just going to rent out the room.
Regardless I’m sure the awkward (and perverted) jokes will keep on coming and I can’t wait!

Battleship: The Movie

I was looking forward to this movie so badly but when the trailer hit, I changed my mind immediately. It had such potential but they made it aliens (or at least it looks like that) and the alien ship doesn’t even look original! It looks like a mix from Transformers and Terminator: Salvation. And the story looks extremely predictable (ten bucks says at the end Liam Neeson's charactor dies but right before he gives that kid premission to marry his daughter).

Only bright side is it has Liam Neeson it!

I hope they release a new trailer soon and have the “alien” ship be some sort of Chinese/Japanese prototype ship then it could once again have huge potential.

If it doesn't have a better trailer indaciting something other than alien I’ll probably just wait for DVD for this one though.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Although the first Ghost Rider got a bad rap from the critics and a lot of fans (not me though I loved it) Marvel studios went ahead and made a sequel. There was some controversy about if it’s a remake or a sequel but Nick Cage stated that it is a sequel but with a new origin sequence (huh?). Last week they released the first trailer for the movie…..and it looks amazing (minus GR peeing fire thought that was lame)

But be the judge for yourself…

Need more reasons that it’ll be awesome?

It is directed by Mark Neveldine and Brain Taylor who directed Crank, Crank: High Voltage and Gamer.

Its screen story is written by comic book movie legend David S. Goyer who is responsible for The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Blade 1-3 and upcoming movies The Dark Knight Rises and The Man of Steel.

The Walking Dead: Walking Straight Again

The smash hit TV show The Walking Dead is set to air season two on October 16th. Although the first season of the show started out with a huge bang it left many Fanboys confused.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! DON’T READ ON IF YOU DON’T WANNA GET SPOILED!

Season one ended with Rick and his crew of survivors leaving the CDC and starting to head out on the road again. But in the comics there is no CDC scene. Also Shane is alive and kickin which is again not how it goes in the comic book world.

But it seems they writers have kicked themselves into gear and are heading towards the right direction by having the survivors head to Greene Farms. I’m not going to spoil what goes down there but it’s bound to be intense.

Although it worries me that executive producer Gale Hurd has confirmed that all principal cast has signed onto a multi season contract, which is GREAT in most cases but what about Shane because he is dead by issue six of the comic.

But maybe there is hope yet. The first episode of season two is called “Miles Behind Us” which is the title of the second collected edition of The Walking Dead (. But who knows that might just be how their starting each season. Season one’s first episode is “Days Gone Bye” which is the first C.E)

Other than the two mishaps of season one (CDC, Shane) the shows stays close to the source material which is amazing and I don’t think they could have picked better actors to play Rick, Glenn, Lori, Dale and Carl.

And the adding of characters Daryl Dixon and Merle Dixon are just amazing story lines and I hope that Robert Kirkman (creator of the comics, producer of the TV show) takes note and does a spin off series of the two brothers. And in interviews Kirkman does seem very interested in doing so.

Here is a trailer for Season 2!

I know a lot of rambling but those are some hopes of Season 2 and thoughts of series.
